SEMINAR 10. Mobile Applications

According to the video we've watched there are some useful ideas of mobile learning. These are focused on mobile learning, the use of mobile devices (smart phones, tablets, laptops, cell phones, and such) in support of teaching and learning.

In general mobile learning is "learning across multiple contexts, through social and content interactions, using personal electronic devices." A form of distance education, m-learners use mobile device educational technology at their time convenience.

M-learning focuses on the mobility of the learner, interacting with portable technologies. Using mobile tools for creating learning aids and materials becomes an important part of informal learning.

Some of the possibilities offered by this methodology are a greater and different access to information, along with transcendent innovations, such as the increase of informal and playful activities, iconic virtual, membership of specific groups, and networks of friendly interaction within new scales of values.

There are different ways of using qr-codes in everyday life. Some of them are:
  1. E-learning course screens for scanning and downloading additional supplementary learning or references materials such as the glossary, References, etc.
  2. E-learning course screens for viewing additional information (such as history, timeline, podcasts, webinars, detailed instructions) with rich media (that help enhance the information) for those who are interested.
  3. Machine packagings and components to show videos and Quick Reference.
  4. For students to view YouTube clips for information.
  5. QR codes inside books to send student to reviews of the book.
  6. Scan a QR code to hear a book talk done by one of the teachers and many other ways...

Enjoy my flashcards in Quizlet!:)
